Mammography X-Ray Accuracy Control Tool
Mammography Image Evaluation Phantom
■ QUART mam/digi EPQC
This versatile phantom is ideal for routine inspections of both digital and analog mammography systems. It is designed to correlate technical and clinical images. It can also be used as a quality assurance (QA) tool for digital tomosynthesis.
A single exposure captures all the data needed to evaluate the images. After exposure, the included software performs an automatic evaluation, allowing QA personnel to conduct tests with minimal effort.
Another key feature of the QUART mam/digi EPQC is the inclusion of a Landolt ring, which mimics the structure of gold. This Landolt ring is used to evaluate low contrast and the limit of perception, and is considered superior to other objects used to simulate calcifications.
The Landolt test for mammography and digital phantoms, which came into effect in May 2017, has been adopted nationwide in Germany as a replacement for the CD mammography test.

Phantom for Evaluating Stereotactic Biopsy Images
■ QUART Biopsy Phantom
This phantom is used for QA/QC in stereo biopsy systems for digital or analog mammography devices. It is optimally designed to support all image formats and fields of view (FOV) starting from 40×40 mm. Because the evaluation objects are standardized, comprehensive QA/QC testing is possible. All evaluation parameters required for QA/QC can be obtained with a single exposure.
This Phantom is also required as a test device for equipment used in international mammography screening programs. Furthermore, by using the QUART Q-Vision (see bottom of page), you can verify its actual low-contrast performance. Low-contrast resolution allows you to determine the limits of the perceptible range and provides a reliable basis for more accurate calibration.
[Evaluation Criteria]
- Visual spatial resolution
- Low contrast
- Minimum contrast (perceptual threshold)
- Lateral uniformity
- Beam collimation
- Artifacts/Image Loss

QA Tool for Film-Based Mammography Systems
■ QUART mamFS
This product is designed for use in QA/QC testing with film-based mammography systems.
A single exposure allows you to collect all parameters necessary for evaluation. It complies with IEC 61223-3-2, DIN 6868-7, DIN 6868-152, and Part 1 of the “European Quality Assurance Guidelines for Mammography Screening” (EPQC).
• Dimensions: 240 × 180 × 46 mm

■ QUART AEC Mammography Set
It consists of five PMMA sheets of varying thicknesses.
It is used to test the automatic exposure control function of mammography systems in accordance with IEC 61223-3-1.
• Size: 240 × 180 mm

■ CompFor MTS
This is a kit for measuring the compression force of mammography systems. It complies not only with IEC 61223-3-2 and 61223-2-10, but also with DIN 6868-152 and 6868-7.
The test kit consists of a foam block, a compression gauge, and a measuring tape.

■ QUART Focal Spot Test
The QUART Focal Spot Test is designed to visualize the focal position along with the associated density distribution within the field of view of digital or film mammography images.
It allows you to determine the extent to which the focal position affects the image quality of the device within the relevant range.

■ QUART KAT 24×30 (Cat 24×30)
This is used to check the contact between the cassette and the film. By observing variations in density on the developed film, you can verify that the screen contact is correct.
The test tool features an open space for measuring optical density (OD).
• Mesh width: 0.5 mm
• Wire: 0.1 mm diameter
